Refractometer is a device that allows the determination of the physical properties of a liquid by measuring the refractive index at the boundary of the medium. The refractometer can be used to determine the degree of battery charge, the solidification point of propylene glycol or ethylene glycol based coolants and the solidification point of windscreen washer fluids. The product is supplied complete and requires no further assembly.

Measurement options:

Use
- 1.Use the pipette to collect a small amount of fluid.
- 2.Lift the cover plate and apply 2-3 drops of liquid to the prism of the instrument.
- 3.Tilt the cover plate back so that the liquid to be measured is spread evenly and without bubbles over the surface of the prism.
- 4.After 30 seconds, point the cover plate at a source of light and look into the eyepiece.
- 5.The image should be focused, using the focusing ring. And read the position of the light/shadow transition on the appropriate scale indicating the properties of the fluid.
