The high-quality refractometer / brixmeter with automatic temperature compensation is designed primarily for measuring sugar content of fruit concentrates/juices, syrups, jams, condensed milk, etc. in the range of 0 - 32 % Brix. A refractometer is an instrument for measuring the refractive index of a beam of light and thus the composition of liquid mixtures or the purity of substances can be determined. Brix is used to measure the concentration of dissolved matter (mainly sugar) in fruit, vegetables, juices, ciders, soft drinks, etc. % Brix is a universal unit of sugar content relative to sucrose (beet sugar), it characterizes the concentration of sucrose in weight percent, 1 % Brix = 1 g of sucrose (beet sugar) in 100 g of e.g. cider. ATC/automatic temperature compensation system (no calibration required at 0°C to 30°C).

Use

• Measuring with a refractometer is very simple, just place a drop of the substance to be measured on the slanted optical prism of the instrument, cover the prism cap (the substance spreads out), look up against the light into the eyepiece of the instrument, focus it if necessary. and on the appropriate scale. The sugar content (%) can be read immediately in the eyepiece from the interface between the illuminated and the non-illuminated part. Large, easy-to-read scale for sugar content in % (0-32 % Brix) with the possibility of focusing the scale.
